Muskegon Heights Alumnae Chapter Health Alert
Major Focus: Increasing Health Awareness and Prevention of those diseases adversely immpacting the African
American community and the community at large. The focal points of this project are hypertension, diabetes, breast cancer,
HIV/Aids, heart disease and obesity awareness.
Special Project :
- Onging health awareness clinics and health fairs at supermarkets and community events.
- Bi-annual Literary Cafe' - health information through poetry.
- Health Fairs
- Mental Health Speakers.
- Newly established in 2004 of two after-school projects.
Delta's Fit Kids Club - a youth obesity prevention project for students ages 6-12 years old.
Peace by Peace - lessons on tolerance, self esteem and conflict resolution for students ages 6-12 years
old.
