National's Program Overview
The Delta Academy was created out of an urgent sense that both needed to save our young females (ages 11-14) from the perils of failure, low self-esteem that may cripple their  futures. Delta Academy purpose provides an opportunity for Local Delta Chapters to enrich and enhance the education of our girls in public schools across the nation.
Muskegon Heights Alumnae Chapter of Delteen/Delta Academy Goal
The Muskegon Heights Delteen Youth Group was first established in the fall of 1985 by the Muskegon Heights Alumnae Chapter with 16 girls (13-18+). The chapter inducted over 60 Delteens before going into hiatus for several years.
The sorority's purpose in organizing a teen group was to provide individual collective opportunities for community service, leadership skills and  work together for common goals.
With  these goals in mind, our local chapter has taken on the responsibilty to implement activities based upon self-esteem workshops, college exposure, special outing to culture events, dinners, museums, plays and concerts. Seminars on Political awareness (voting), scholastic achievement, health and nutrition, Christian etiquettes workshops, volunteer service for the community organizations, emphasis on sisterhood development and an bi-annual formal Gala (introduction to the community. )
The Delteens participated in such projects as volunteer services in hospitals, the American Red Cross Blood Donor drive, child safety programs and after school child care. The  Delteens traveled and explored many of the educational and enrichment venues in the midwest. They have heard speakers ranging from political candidates, business and career counselors. For many of these activities Delteens raised their own funds for their educational enrichment travels.
Delteen/Delta Academy - 21st century.
In the spring of 2004 Muskegon Heights Alumnae Chapter reinstated the Delteen/Delta Academy  by inducting girls ages 10- 13+ focusing on National's objectives and continuing our local chapter's established goals.

In this area, we might mention the date of the next meeting.
